Halliburton Prudhoe Bay Facility Improvements
NGE-TFT provided engineering design and construction inspection to two separate phases of construction at Halliburton’s Prudhoe Bay facility in Deadhorse, Alaska. NGE-TFT provided recommendations for freeze-back pile foundations for the proposed Nitrogen Plant, Sperry Shop, and Truck Maintenance facilities constructed on-site. NGE-TFT also provided on-site inspection of the pile installation activities, including logging of excess ice in each pile pilot hole, observation of slurry activities, and thermal monitoring of slurry freeze-back. The on-site inspection was critical in providing real-time engineering design modifications based on the amount of ice encountered at each pile site. Thermal monitoring of the slurried piles also allowed for more accurate determinations of pile loading.
